You Drive It; We Do the Backbreaking Part
Got a rental lined up and content to take the wheel? In that situation, what is left over is the punishing stretch, heaving the heavy goods and arranging them so vibration on the road won’t jostle the stack to pieces. That sums up labor-only, with no extras attached. Pull in aboard your reserved vehicle, keep the keys on your person, and our crew fills or empties it without delay, jammed solid and balanced front to back. Choosing to cover the mileage solo amounts to a conscious swap, and it counts among the main reasons this remains a wallet-friendly route to seasoned muscle.
Part of the Package
- Tough crew members set to pack or empty whatever POD, container or rental you turned up in
- A firm, tied-down stack engineered to sit steady over bridge expansion gaps and cratered roadway
- Moving blankets and shrink film draped over whatever warrants the cushioning
- Hand trucks running on four wheels, floor runners and lashings carried in aboard our own van
- Big-ticket furniture taken apart along with bed frames, reassembled afterward
The Flow of It
Park the truck wherever a legal space, or a stretch fit for double-parked loading, allows. The crew then judges every piece by weight and form, anchoring the densest against the front wall for counterweight and wedging the balance behind it snug, so nothing breaks free crossing the FDR or merging onto a span. Whatever separates for extra clearance gets separated. An unload reverses each step, every item lowered where you point and the parts that came off reattached. The instant a nor’easter threatens, salt covers the stoop or dock and cover gets laid before any rolling begins, since a heaped dolly skating over greasy steel and sodden concrete is precisely how a one-person Saturday lands at the ER. Inside a doorman or co-op address we work strictly inside the freight-elevator window you booked, sparing the rental from burning money parked idle.
The Single Limit
Put plainly, we steer clear of the driver’s seat. Running the truck to any spot, towing a trailer behind it, or shuttling a POD between two addresses falls wholly on you, or on whichever outfit rented it out, with no carve-outs. The vehicle plus its gas ride on your bill besides, and whatever travels unsecured or uncovered up high sits outside our guarantee, the exceptions being a piece you closed up yourself or one a photo caught going aboard.
The Figures
Billing runs by the hour, opening at $149/hr for a two-person crew across a minimum of two hours, generally the thriftiest path to capable hands. A dense haul, or several stories of stairs to climb, frequently warrants a third worker at $199/hr, a detail nailed down on a brief call.
